Hugh Bonneville: museum is 'living storybook of our culture'

Hugh Bonneville described the The Weald and Downland Living Museum as a 'living storybook of our culture' at its official opening of The Gateway Project.

The museum in Sussex is a 'living' collection of over 50 traditional rural buildings from sites across south-east England that have been saved from being demolished or simply falling down.

£5.6 million in National Lottery Funding has seen the museum benefit from three new galleries housing the visitor centre, shop, café and community space.

Our reporter Sam Holder caught up with actor Hugh Bonneville, a huge supporter of the museum's work, at the opening.
