The money will fund 15 graduate scholarships. It's been given by Mica Ertegun, the widow of the former boss of Atlantic Records, who says she's fallen in love with Oxford.
Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones will join The Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Lord Patten, to celebrate the announcement.
