A British man has been jailed for six years in Bali in Indonesia on drugs charges. Julian Ponder from Brighton was arrested with his partner Rachel Lisa Dougall at their rented home in the country, in a case linked to that of Lindsay Sandiford who has been sentenced to death for drug smuggling.
Sandiford told police she was given 4.79 kilograms of cocaine to give to the couple. Officers also said Ponder had been in possession of 23 grams of heroin. Dougall, also from Brighton has already been sentenced to a year in prison for failing to report a drug-related crime.
