Kent Fire & Rescue Service have scaled back their response to a huge fire at a paper mill in Kemsley near Sittingbourne. They had been called to the blaze in Ridham Avenue earlier this afternoon - and found a large amount of baled paper on fire. However, just four fire engines now remain at the scene.
Firefighters are tackling a major blaze at a paper mill in Ridham Avenue in Kemsley near Sittingbourne. Kent Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene just after 3pm. A mechanical digger is being used to break up and move the stacks of paper on the site.
The fire is causing a lot of smoke in the general area. People living nearby are being advised to close their windows and doors as a precaution while the fire is being tackled
