The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford wants to raise £8m to stop a French painting being sold to a foreign buyer for £28m. The Portrait of Mademoiselle Claus was painted in 1868 by Edouard Manet. Museum director Dr Christoper Brown explains to Stacey Poole why it's so important.
