Boost for Reading drivers
More than £1.6 million is set to be invested in new road surfaces in Reading.
It follows exceptional levels of rain followed by snow and ice which caused significant damage to the borough’s roads.
In all at 18 major roads across Reading are set to be resurfaced as part of the improvement programme.

M20 - Lane closed in Kent
One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on M20 coastbound between J10 A20 (Ashford South) and J11 B2068 (Hythe / Westenhanger).

TRAVEL - RAIL: HAMPSHIRE - Two hour delays
Delays of up to two hours on South West Trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour and between London Waterloo and Southampton Central due to signalling problem.
Trains in/out of Waterloo are being severely delayed due to a signalling problem at Clapham Junction. Tickets accepted on First Great Western, Southern, London Underground and London Buses. Disruption is expected to continue until the end of service.
TRAVEL - ROADS: KENT - Accident on M2 coastbound
One lane closed due to accident on M2 coastbound between J5 A249 (Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout) and J6 A251 (Faversham). Matrix sign set to 50 mph. Lane two remains closed whilst the central reservation is inspected.
TRAVEL - RAIL: THREE BRIDGES - 40 minute delays
Delays of up to 40 minutes on Southern between Victoria and Three Bridges due to earlier broken down tram at Clapham Junction and safety checks being made at Wandsworth Common.
All Southern and Gatwick Express trains in/out of Victoria are disrupted until around 9pm. Tickets accepted on London Underground, Southeastern, South West Trains, First Capital Connect, London Midland and London Bus services.
TRAVEL - ROADS: KENT - M2 partially blocked
M2 coastbound partially blocked due to accident between J5 A249 (Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout) and J6 A251 (Faversham). Matrix sign set to 50 mph. Note change of details. The authorities earlier reported this had cleared in error.

TRAVEL - ROADS: HAMPSHIRE - M27 delays after accident
Queueing traffic due to earlier accident, three vehicles involved on M27 Eastbound at J8 A3024 (Bursledon/Hamble). All lanes have been re-opened. All traffic was briefly stopped whilst the emergency services attended to an accident in lane three (of three).
Delays in the area not helped by a separate accident in the same location, on the hard shoulder.
TRAVEL - RAIL: SUSSEX - Gatwick Express update
Reduced service on Gatwick Express between Victoria and Gatwick Airport due to broken down train at Clapham Junction and safety checks being made at Wandsworth Common.
Gatwick Express are currently running a half-hourly service, departing Victoria at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour, and departing Gatwick Airport at 20 and 50 minutes past. Disruption is expected until around 7.30pm.
TRAVEL - ROADS: HAMPSHIRE - A30 blocked due to accident
A30 Hartford Bridge Flats in both directions blocked due to accident, a single vehicle involved between A327 and A327 / Cricket Hill Lane. Near Blackbushe Airport.
