Kent soldier honoured with Military Cross today

A soldier who was knocked to the ground by a bullet, then bowled over by a grenade and still managed to take on a Taliban fighter, is being honoured today.

Kent based Rifleman Tuljung Gurung from 1st Battaion The Royal Gurkha Rifles is to be awarded the Military Cross.

His bravery is said to have prevented a "catastrophic loss of life" and showed "exceptional instinct and courage".
