Sold for £40,000!

World's oldest Mini Credit: Bonhams

The world's oldest Mini has been sold for £40,250 at auction after being kept in a garage in Bognor Regis for 25 years. That's more than double its estimate - it was expected to fetch £15,000.

The decrepit motor was only the eighth to be made in the UK when it rolled off the production line in 1959.

In auction, it beat the £37,950 paid for a dark-blue 1950 Chieftain Silver Streak used by guitarist Richards when the Rolling Stones recorded Exile on Main Street.
