Jason Lee, Head Coach of the England and Great Britain women’s hockey team, has named 29 athletes in his squad as he prepares for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
After winning bronze at London 2012, Reading’s Kate Walsh, Alex Danson, Emily Maguire and Helen Richardson return to the side.
And with several other members of the squad announcing their retirement, Lee has called upon the experience of Reading’s Susie Gilbert and Sam Quek.
Captain Kate Walsh, said “It’s very exciting to restart the centralised training programme with a fresh coaching set-up and new faces in the squad.
"We’ve got a really good blend of youth and experience in the side and looking to the summer ahead, with the Investec World League and the European Championships, I can’t wait to see how the team gels and progresses.”
