VIDEO: The recession is being blamed for a rise in countryside crime. New figures reveal the number of thefts and damage reported in our rural areas has gone up by six per cent. Rob Murphy talked to farmer Sara Peaple and Juliet Evans, Community Support Officer.
The financial crisis is making life difficult for many families but it seems our pets are especially vulnerable. More people are struggling to find the cash to look after them properly, and as a result, animal rescue centres and now bursting at the seams.
The latest victims include almost one-hundred rabbits rescued from a house in Dorset and now they're in need of new homes.

Staff at John Lewis and Waitrose have had their bonus cut for the first time in three years because of the recession. The employee-owned firm is paying its 75,000 staff 14% of salary in bonus compared with 18% last year.
