Statement from Dorset Police

Dorset Police have released a statement after charging a further two people in connection with the death of 21-year-old Reece Menzies in Boscombe.

Four men from London and a woman from Bournemouth, have been charged in connection with his murder in July 2012.

The two people that have been charged have been in custody for the last 48 hours, during which time they have been interviewed at length.

“We have presented details of these interviews as well as evidence gathered over the past two months to the Crown Prosecution Service, with whom we have worked closely.

“I continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward and help us with this investigation by calling 101. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

Two charged following Boscombe shooting

Two people will appear before magistrates today charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man in Dorset.

Reece Menzies was discovered at his flat on Romelia Lane in Boscombe on the 25th July.

It's understood that he was shot in the early hours of that morning.

A 29-year-old man from London and a Bournemouth woman, aged 22, were charged yesterday.

Three other men all from London were charged with Reece's murder last month.

Two more arrests in Dorset murder investigation

A London man and a Bournemouth woman, aged 29 and 22, were arrested this morning, at an address in Westbourne. They were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder Reece James Menzies and continue to assist police with their enquiries.

Further searches in Bournemouth and London have taken place as the hunt for a weapon continues. Reece, 21, was found dead at his flat, at the junction of Roumelia Lane and Sea Road in Boscombe, on Wednesday 25 July 2012. He had sustained a gunshot wound.

Three London men – 33-year-old Wayne Stephenson, 22-year-old Keifer Hutchinson and 24-year-old Jarome Parkinson – were charged with Reece’s murder last month.

Men due in court

Three men are due before magistrates in Bournemouth later charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man in Boscombe. Reece Menzies was found dead at his home in Bournemouth on July 25th.

The three men have been in custody for the last 72 hours and they have all been interviewed at length. We have presented details of these interviews as well as evidence gathered over the past month to the Crown Prosecution Service, with whom we have worked closely.
