A gang of thieves gained entry to a Rushington bank and tried to break into a cash machine.
The incident happened at 4am on Sunday 15th September, where the group were spotted on the roof of the Santander branch in Ash Lane.
A hole had been created in the roof and several people had entered the bank to try and open a cash machine inside.
The alarm was set off and security smoke was released.
When members of the public shouted at the group, they fled from the bank empty handed into cars nearby.
The vehicles were a white hatchback and a dark hatchback and the thieves were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

The incident happened on Jacobs Gutter Lane in the Rushington area of Southampton at around 11.15pm on the night of Saturday 11th May 2013. The vehicle failed to stop.

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after a collision with a car in Southampton in which the driver failed to stop. The incident happened on Jacobs Gutter Lane in the Rushington area at around 11.15pm on the night of Saturday 11th May.
The victim, a 34-year-old man from Harefield, was struck by a vehicle which then drove off towards the A326.
Hampshire Police are appealing for the driver of a hatchback-type vehicle to come forward. Officers are also appealing for witnesses to contact the Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Prepay.
