Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a lorry early this morning. It happened just after 12.15am on the London-bound section of the A2 at Wincheap near Canterbury.
The London-bound carriageway and the slip road onto the A2 from Wincheap are closed while a forensic examination is carried out.
The man who died has not been formally identified, but is thought to be in his late teens.
Witnesses are being asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
The A2 is closed eastbound at Bean after an accident involving a car and a motorbike. It happened between the B255 (Bean Interchange for Bluewater) and the A2260 Southfleet Road / B262 Hall Road / Park Corner Road (Northfleet / Ebbsfleet turn off).
Kent Police say they are not treating the death of a man on the A2 earlier today as a suspicious death.
There was a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian just after 6pm on the A2's Londonbound carriageway near Canterbury.
It is believed the man was in his twenties, but he has not yet been identified, nor have his next of kin been informed.
The road was closed for two hours with vehicles being diverted up to the M20 and A20, so forensic teams could gather evidence. The affected section of the A2 is expected to be opened shortly. Detectives are conducting an inquiry for the coroner.
An accident has closed one lane eastbound and left heavy traffic on A2 eastbound between the B255 at Bean Interchange for Bluewater and the A296 at the Roman Road slip road. Matrix signs are set to 50mph.
