TRAVEL - ROADS: Surrey - delays on A3 after police incident
One lane is closed and there is queueing traffic at Cobham after a police incident on A3 Northbound at A245 Portsmouth Road (Painshill). There is congestion on A3 Portsmouth Road to Old Lane. Lane one (of three) remains closed after all traffic was held in both directions earlier.

Severe delays & one lane closed due to recovery work and accident, three vehicles involved on A3 Southbound between A243 Hook Road / A309 Hook Rise North (Kingston By-Pass) Hook Junction and A244 Copsem Lane.
Congestion on A3 Malden Way (Kingston By Pass) to A2043 Malden Road / Bodley Road (Malden Junction).
Travel time is over 40 minutes. Traffic was being held just before the Esher exit. Traffic was able to pass from 07:15 in lanes one and two, but lane three remains closed as one of the vehicles is awaiting recovery.

TRAVEL - ROADS: SURREY - Heavy traffic on A3 at Guildford
There is heavy traffic northbound on the A3 at Guildford after an earlier accident. The vehicle involved is now on the hard shoulder on A3 Northbound at Egerton Road (Cathedral Turn). There is congestion from the A3 Milford By Pass Road to the A283 / B3001 Elstead Rd (Milford). All lanes re-opened.

Traffic is stationary on the A3 northbound at Egerton Road (Cathedral Turn) at Guildford. There is congestion on A3 to B3000 (Puttenham / Compton). Traffic has been temporarily stopped to recover a car that has collided with the central reservation.

The A3 Malden Way at the Kingston By Pass in Greater London is closed northbound and here is queueing traffic because of flooding at the A2043 Malden Road / Bodley Road ( Malden Junction). There is a diversion via the slip roads.
Return to nature for former A3 at Hindhead
The Hindhead Tunnel on the A3 linking Portsmouth to London has been open since July 2011. Today work will begin to restore the old A3 above the tunnel back to nature. Heather seeds are to be planted around the Devil's Punch Bowl in Surrey by school children.
