Firefighters battled to stop a fire spreading through a thatched roof at a property in Warninglid, West Sussex, last night. Six engines attended. There were no injuries and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Six crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been tackling a barn fire in the village of Warninglid overnight. Approximately 800 bales of hay were destroyed in the blaze which is still smouldering.
