An industrial estate in Oxfordshire has been cordoned off for much of the day after a fire broke out in buildings that contained gas cylinders. Sixty firefighters tackled the blaze in Watlington. Police and ambulance crews were on hand as a precaution.
An industrial estate in Oxfordshire has been cordoned off all day today - after a fire broke out in a number of buildings which contained gas cylinders.
A fire continues to burn at industrial units in Oxfordshire where gas cylinders have been found. Around 60 firefighters have been on site at the height of the blaze just outside of Watlington. Chris Maughan has our report.
Oxfordshire firefights are currently attending a "severe fire" in a series of industrial units just outside Watlington.
Around 60 fire-fighters from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire are on scene tackling the blaze and bringing it under control using water jets.
Acetylene, Propane and Oxygen cylinders stored within the buildings involved are providing "an additional hazard", crews said.
Safety cordons and exclusion areas have been set up. Fortunately the buildings are remote and members of the public are not affected.
Crews are likely to be on the scene throughout the remainder of the day.
