We understand that these changes mean difficult messages for some of our employees, and we are committed to minimising the impact on people by reducing job numbers through redeployment, natural turnover and voluntary measures wherever possible.
“However, we have to make sure that we can flexibly adapt our operational model and processes to meet constantly changing market conditions. That means simplifying our claims structure to ensure we have the right number of people to deliver our services.”
Zurich has announced restructuring plans which will result in the loss of 121 jobs at it's two sites in Whiteley and Glasgow.
The insurance company will re-structure it's UK personal lines car and home claims handling teams. Those operations will transfer to its subsidiary based in Cheltenham.
These changes which will affect people working in the home claims department are expected to start taking place from March next year.
There's to be more job losses across the south as Zurich Insurance confirms it's to cut 160 positions at its headquarters in Whiteley and 14 at its Farnborough Office. We also expect to hear from HSBC who is due to announce where in the UK it's to shed 2,000 jobs.
Zurich Insurance has confirmed it will cut 163 staff at its Whiteley base in Hampshire. A further 14 posts are to go in Farnborough. More updates on this later.
