Man "seriously injured" in dog attack
A man has been seriously injured after an attack by a dog on Brighton beach this morning.
Police arrived at a beach near Brighton Pier at around 6.15am to find two dogs - and due to their aggressive behaviour a firearms unit had to be called out.
Officers and ambulance crews were able to get the victim, a man in his 30s, away from the area and he was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
The dogs have been taken into police care and a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a dog dangerously out of control, possession of a bladed weapon and of class A drugs.
It's believed that the victim and arrested man know each other.
