Police investigating dog attack
Detectives investigating a dog attack on Brighton beach are appealing for witnesses to help them piece together what happened.
Police attended the beach at around 6.15am this morning following a report that a man was being attacked by two dogs.
A man in his 30s was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital suffering from multiple bite wounds and he remains in a serious condition this afternoon.
A police officer also received bite wounds to his leg and hand and is receiving treatment in hospital.
A 40-year-old man from Brighton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a dog dangerously out of control, possession of a bladed article and possession of class A drugs. He remains in custody this afternoon.
