RAF honour former Olympian

World War II spitfire pilot and Olympic athlete, Don Finlay, has been commemorated at his former base, RAF Halton, in Buckinghamshire. He competed in the Olympics in the 1930s and 1940s.


Honour for Olympian pilot

An RAF Spitfire pilot who trained in Buckinghamshire has been honoured by the Oxford Dictionary. Don Finlay, a tripple Olympian and the 1936 British Olympic Team Captain, ran in pre- and post-World War II games winning Bronze and silver medals.
