The government has given its backing to Cherwell Council's plans to create a garden city in the north west of Bicester.

The government has given its backing to Cherwell Council's plans to create a garden city in the north west of Bicester.

It follows the abandonment of the previous Government's eco-towns policy. Britain has two garden cities - Welwyn and Letchworth.

Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry asked communities minister Greg Clark about it in the House of Commons this afternoon.
