Police hunting cyclist who robbed 86 year old

An elderly woman has been robbed in Portsmouth while she was out doing her shopping.

The 86-year-old was walking home from a local shop in Southsea when a man on a bicycle stole her purse, which she was holding in her hand.

The purse contained £30 in cash and her house key. The woman was unable to get into her house. She was not injured but left shaken. It happened at the junction of Devonshire Avenue and Prince Albert Road between 9am and 9.50am on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

A suspect was described as: White, aged in his 20s, wearing a blue jacket and a baseball cap. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Detective Constable Stephen Ryan at Fratton police station by phoning 101. Mini-com users can phone 01962 875000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
