Simon Jones, a professional golfer from Hastings, has broken a Guinness World Record for hitting golf balls, by striking 10,610 in 24 hours. The record at Tonbridge Golf Centre smashed the former total of 10,392.

While Ernie Els was in the spotlight yesterday claiming the British Open in dramatic fashion, a pro golfer from Hastings was breaking a world record.

Simon Jones, from Hastings, has taken the Guinness World Record for hitting golf balls, by striking 10,610 in 24 hours. The record at Tonbridge Golf Centre beat the former total of 10,392.
