British Transport Police appeal

The British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked on a train in Gillingham. They are particularly keen to speak to taxi drivers or local companies from the Medway area.

The victim of this attack is now in a critical condition in hospital. We believe that up to three black men may have taken a taxi from Gillingham to south east London shortly after the stabbing took place.

The stabbing was reported shortly before 6.15pm yesterday, Tuesday, 24 July, when police were called to a report of a fight involving a small group of men on board the 18:24 service from Gillingham to London Charing Cross.

A man, believed to be 17 and from Dartford, was found suffering from serious injuries having received two stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
