Teenager killed in hit-and-run

A 14-year-old boy has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run in Kent.

Police are hunting for the driver of a grey Fiat Bravo who knocked the boy off his bike on the A2 London Road in Sittingbourne shortly after 9pm last night.

Couple questioned over hit-and-run death

A 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man are helping police with their enquiries after a fatal hit-and-run collision near Sittingbourne last night at about 9.15pm.

A grey Fiat Bravo, believed to have been involved, has also been recovered close to the scene of the incident.

A 14-year-old boy was riding his silver bicycle on the A2 London Road near Bapchild Cricket Club, towards Faversham, when he was hit from behind by the car. It is understood that the car continued to travel in the direction of Teynham.

The boy sustained serious injuries and was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers investigating the fatal collision are particularly keen to speak with anyone who saw a grey Fiat Bravo in the area at the time of the collision.
