Teenager killed in hit-and-run

A 14-year-old boy has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run in Kent.

Police are hunting for the driver of a grey Fiat Bravo who knocked the boy off his bike on the A2 London Road in Sittingbourne shortly after 9pm last night.

Hit and run: two released on bail

Two people have been released on bail pending further enquiries after being questioned by police in connection with a fatal ‘hit and run’ in Bapchild near Sittingbourne.

The 27 year old woman and 23 year old man will return to a police station in Kent at a later date.

Officers are still appealing for information and anyone who may have witnessed what happened on Monday evening on the A2 London Road, near Bapchild Cricket Club at around 9.15pm. The victim, a 14 year old boy, was named by police today as Kyle Coen from Sittingbourne.

Kyle was riding his silver bicycle towards Faversham when he was hit from behind by a car. It is believed to be a grey Fiat Bravo and it continued towards Teynham. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal line on 01622 798538.
