People going to the Olympics from Sussex, Kent and Surrey face a second day of chaos.

Meridian can reveal Network Rail has failed to solve a major points problem near London Bridge and willnot do so until overnight tonight.

It means fewer services can operate into Cannon Street with some trains cancelled. Extra pressure is also being put on London Bridge services. Passengers are being told to expect to queue but services will operate to all destinations.

Engineers failed to solve the points problem during work overnight. They will attempt to carry out more repairs tonight but until then disruption will continue.

A Southeastern spokesperson said: "We are sorry for the disruption but the points problem between London Bridge and Cannon Street is not resolved.

"Luckily today is one of the quieter days at the Olympics so disruption should not be too bad."
