A 10-year-old boy is being treated for a serious head injury after he was hit by a blue Mercedes saloon car in Leigh Park, Havant.
The incident happened at 7.15pm, Sunday 12th August, on Middle Park Way near to the junction with Thruxton Road.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who saw the collision, or either the car or the little boy just prior to it.
It's been the source of some speculation, but at this stage it doesn't seem as though the speed of the car was a factor in the cause of the crash."
The boy, from Waterlooville, was treated for a serious head injury by paramedics at the scene and taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man from Havant, was uninjured.
Middle Park Way was closed for two hours while police examined the scene. Anyone with any information is asked to call Sgt Voller on 101, quoting Operation Remy.
