Aberdeen Asset Management is delighted to announce the winner of the 2012 Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week junior art competition.
The piece of artwork from 10 year old Izzy Shepard, a member of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club, successfully combined this year’s ‘Best of British’ theme with sailing at Cowes, securing the £1,000 prize-money from Aberdeen for her sailing club.
Izzy said: “I’m really, really pleased, it’s so exciting, I can’t believe it. I got the idea for the picture from a photo taken by my Granny years ago, which is up in our living room and which I really like.”
Entries were judged by a panel lead by double Olympic gold medallist and Aberdeen Asset Management sailing ambassador Shirley Robertson, who said: “The standard of entries was fantastic and Izzy’s piece of artwork is so accomplished for someone of her age.”
