John Adams is at risk of losing an eye after he was shot in the face with an air rifle on Saturday night. The Environment Agency worker tried to prevent thieves stealing his white Toyota van, when he was attacked out side his home in Harbour Road in Rye.
A 41-year-old from Ashford and a 28-year-old from Maidstone were arrested on the 15th August in conjunction with Kent Police. They have been released on conditional bail until 11 September.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen Mr Adam's Environment Agency van being towed between Rye and Charing in Kent, late on Saturday night. The van's s bumper was damaged whilst it was being towed.
