A police investigation has begun after a woman was killed at Brighton Speed Trials on Saturday.
A black Honda Asco collided with a wall during the event at around 6.15pm.
The rider, a 68-year-old man from London, suffered serious injuries and is currently in a critical but stable condition.
His passenger, a 38-year-old woman from the Mildenhall area of Suffolk, died from her injuries.
Sgt Huw Watts said: "This was a tragic incident during what should have been an enjoyable event. Our thoughts are with the woman's family and friends at this time.
"We are currently investigating how the collision happened and would like to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any pictures or footage to contact Sussex Police."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 asking to speak to Sussex Police and quoting Operation Marsden.
