Banbury commuters gain seats

Rail passengers who travel from Banbury, Oxfordshire, have won a long running campaign to get more carriages on commuter trains. Many have complained about having to stand for an hour on the journey to London Marylebone.

1,000 extra seats a week for Banbury passengers

Chiltern Railways has responded by adding 2 extra carriages to the busiest commuter trains. The company say it will mean 1,000 extra seats a week for passengers. Since the launch of Mainline just 12 months ago, there has been a significant increase in passengers travelling on rush hour services.

Banbury is a key Chiltern station at the heart of our network. We’re delighted to be able to offer more seats from Banbury as we continue to improve our service, to ensure that our passengers have the best service possible.
