A body found close to a vehicle at the bottom of cliffs at Culver on the Isle of Wight has been formally identified as missing man Robert Hayball, aged 20, of Nelson Road, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Police were called at 2.52am by a member of the public who was concerned for the welfare of Mr Hayball. He was reported to have left home driving a van. Police later discovered that a vehicle had gone over a cliff at Culver.
A vehicle, believed to be Mr Hayball's van, remains underwater off the coast of Culver. Mr Hayball's death is not being treated as suspicious at this time. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later this week. HM Coroner has been informed.
