The Olympics, Paralympics and a fluctuating pound/euro exchange rate hit sales revenues in quarter three but Eurostar remain positive. For the year to date, passenger numbers were up from 7.3 million to 7.4 million with sales revenues down 1% to £612 million this year from £619 million in 2011.
"We have had an inspiring and rewarding summer bringing athletes and spectators from around the world to the Olympic Games. Looking ahead to the end of the year, the outlook is strong. Bookings have bounced back and we are now seeing a return to more typical travel patterns."
