Statement from Worthing High School
Of the 48 members of the NUT and NASUWT just 16 members of staff have chosen to take part in strike action at Worthing High School. The school has remained open despite the picket lines.
– Carolyn Dickinson, Headteacher at Worthing High School“A very high percentage of our staff, were committed to keep Worthing High School open for all pupils today despite strike action by some members of the NUT and NASUWT today.
School staff have worked hard with the Leadership team to plan an alternative curriculum for today which has enabled us to remain open for all of our 1000 students.
The Governing Body have continued to give staff reassurance that there is no intention to change existing pay and conditions upon our conversion and indeed did so publicly at our recent staff T.U.P.E. consultation meeting earlier this term.
