Naval diver starts Great South Run two days early

A record number of people will be taking part in this weekend's Great South Run. Thirty thousand will pound the streets of Portsmouth during what is the region's biggest mass participation event

Setting off from Southsea seafront on Sunday morning, runners will make their way through the city's historic dockyards before heading back out to what is traditionally a very windswept seafront.

But one naval diver has already begun his ten mile journey.
