The search for the next manager of Portsmouth FC starts today after Michael Appleton left the club to join Blackpool. The 36-year-old left Fratton Park after 363 days at the club. Although the club was relegated to League One under his tenure, Appleton is highly regarded.
He lost his entire first-team squad during the summer because of the financial difficulties at the club. But he's since guided the team to relative safety with youngsters and short-term contract players. No names to replace Appleton are in the frame yet, but former boss Harry Redknapp is available.
