Police in Hampshire are seeking witnesses to an attempted street robbery in which a heavily pregnant woman was knocked to the ground in an attempt to steal her handbag.
The attack occurred yesterday morning when the 20 year old from Hedge End got off a bus in Portsmouth Road, Woolston, Southampton.
On her way to work in Victoria Road, she had reached the Age UK charity shop when she was knocked to the ground by someone who tried to steal her shoulder strap bag.
The attempt failed, and the offender ran off towards Portsmouth Road. The woman was checked by an ambulance crew.
She was not injured and the unborn child is not believed to have been harmed.
The offender is described as wearing a dark hoodie with long brown hair hanging from each side of the hood.
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
