Portsmouth's Sam Davies has suffered a broken mast in the Vendee Global yacht race.
The skipper has contacted race officials to say her mast is broken. She is not injured and safe inside the boat, organisers said.
When the incident occurred she was about 130 nautical miles north west of Madeira. Davies was the only female skipper in the race.
