Relief for Poyet as Brighton win

Brighton manager Gus Poyet pronounced himself pleased after his side ended a tough run of results with a 2-1 win at Huddersfield. The Seagulls moved firmly back into play-off contention and Poyet was in genial mood.

Guy Poyet: "It's fantastic!"

Brighton were top of the Championship at the end of September but a run of just one win in nine matches saw them slump into midtable.

But after victory at Huddersfield, Poyet said

Three hours ago we were one win in nine and people were saying that was terrible.

Now they are saying we are unbeaten in five and it's fantastic. We are a good team and difficult to play against. I am happy for the players.
