Weather spells end for fireworks at Christmas lights

Following the forecast for extreme weather conditions this evening, organisers of the Salisbury Christmas lights have decided to cancel their fireworks finale.

Heavy winds have made it too difficult to safely erect the planned stage, PA and large screen for the annual event.

However, live acts will perform from 6pm, with X Factor's District 3 switching on the lights, from the Guildhall steps, at 7pm.
