Man killed by crane in scrapyard
A man has died after being hit by a piece of equipment attached to a crane at a scrapyard.
Police were called to the scene of the accident in Twyford Avenue, Portsmouth, Hampshire, at 12.12pm yesterday in which a second man also suffered non life-threatening injuries.
A Hampshire police spokeswoman said that a post mortem examination would be carried out on the body of the 50-year-old to establish exactly how he died.

"Hampshire Constabulary is working with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death."
The spokeswoman added that the man's next-of-kin had been informed and the coroner had been notified of the death.
