Thames Valley Police has outlined the progress of the investigation into the deaths of an elderly man and woman found in Berkshire.
We are aware that the continued police presence in the area may be causing some concern to the local residents.
We would like to reassure people that we are carrying out standard forensic investigations to determine fully the circumstances around the two deaths.
At this stage, there is no obvious sign of a forced entry to the property other than that made by the police to gain access. Full examination of the property is likely to take a number of days.
Officers will be increasing patrols in the area to ensure local people are kept informed as the investigation develops."
