A postmortem examination is due to be held today on the body of a 71 woman found dead at her home in Hove, East Sussex.
She was found in a bedroom of a flat at King George VI Mansions in CourtFarm Road on Thursday. Her cause of death has not yet been established.
The 85 year old man was taken from the flat to the Royal Sussex County Hospitalfor treatment for minor injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody facing interview.
