A 57-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a collision with a car in Crowborough on 6th December 2012. Emergency services were called to Crowborough Hill at 5.48pm after the man was hit by a burgundy-coloured Ford Fiesta, driven by a 52-year-old woman.
She was uninjured, but was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving. She has been bailed until 7th February 2012. The man was taken to Kings College Hospital in London where his condition on Thursday evening was described as critical.
Sussex road policing officers are investigating and have appealed for witnesses. They are keen to speak to the driver of a silver car travelling west who stopped to allow the pedestrian to cross shortly before the incident.
