800 properties lost power this morning after two separate incidents involving a sub-station fire at the University of Oxford and a cable fault in the city.
A fire broke out at the university's science area in South Parks Road at 6am, leading to a power cut at the university.
Southern Electric said a separate cable fault on their network around the same time had caused 800 properties to lose power for almost two hours.
Power has now been restored to all homes.
