VIDEO: The RSPCA has supplied us with CCTV of a severely emaciated dog being tied up and abandoned outside a pub in Sussex in freezing conditions. The male Rottweiler was left tied up outside the Crown Hotel in Littlehampton on Wednesday night last week by two women, who then ran away.
The women were caught on CCTV which shows both of them clearly – one of the women is heavily pregnant and both were wearing thick winter anoraks and had bare legs. The dog, named Hero by staff at the pub, was rescued by RSPCA inspector Tony Pritchard who took him straight to a vet.
Inspector Pritchard said: “This poor dog was completely emaciated – one of the thinnest dogs I have seen. A male adult Rottweiler should weigh around 50-60 kilos – this dog weighed just 22 kilos. He was simply starving and now all he wants to do is eat.” RSPCA: 0300 1234999
