A former police officer will stand trial today accused of murdering his wife at her high street hair salon.
Ivan Esack, 38, of Rosewood Avenue, Ashford, Kent, is accused of stabbing 33-year-old Natalie Esack at Esack Hair and Beauty in High Street, Ashford, on April 30.
At a plea and case management hearing in July, he pleaded not guilty to murder.
Esack, who was employed by Kent Police until 2010 and worked as a football agent before his arrest, was remanded in custody over the killing of his wife, with whom he was reported to have been estranged.
The trial, which is expected to last 10 days, will take place at Maidstone Crown Court.
