The annual harbour swim in Weymouth organised by the local Lions club is now attracting hundreds of entrants, a few years ago it was 30 or 40. Now swimmers from all over the South make their way to take part in the famous Dorset swim.
Some 2,000 spectators also lined both sides of the harbour to watch the many swimmers make their plunge and rapid swim across the chilly harbour.
They seem to keep coming each year, we are never sure how many will turn
up on the day, but its now very much into the hundreds. We know that someswimmers drive from all over the South, it’s a great fund raiser for ourcharities.
