A man has been charged with murdering a 21 year old following a confrontation just hours into the New Year.
Jurijs Popovs, 47, is accused of killing Dmitrijs Titovs, who suffered a suspected stab wound outside a block of flats.
Officers were called to a disturbance at the block in Henley Place, London Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, at 1.30am on New Year's Day and the incident was resolved.
But half an hour later police were called to the same place again following a report a man was lying injured outside the flats.
Mr Titovs, from Sittingbourne, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Popovs, of Teynham, will appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
Police said two other men who were also arrested have been released without charge.
